I started back at Redhat 6.x , before the RHEL days and way before Xorg, and Gnome were stable let alone had unoffical nvidia drivers. There is a key differences between then and now, back then you had to know command line stuff, now , well not so much you know?

I’ll not be the first one to say Ubuntu has split the community in so many ways, but dont get me wrong the community has always had an divide, but its more apparent. The divide I speak of is really the Zealots of the community vs beginners to linux. In this split we have seen some of the greatest innovation from both sides of the fence and have welcomed many new members to our culture/society.

I welcome anyone community and highly recommend you try either Ubuntu or Kubuntu
