Gene:

I read your article recommending Blue Jeans Cable and Impact Acoustics as honest vendors for speaker cable. I am familiar w/BJC but not IA. I have read SO MUCH about cabling the past couple of years. I read a post from a seemingly knowledgeable guy who was against snake oil, and he mentioned undesirable materials for speaker wire, including PVC. I noticed that IA uses polypropolene (one of the DESIRED materials). I also notice that (Canare 4S11) espouses the advantages of a non-PVC insulator. Since Canare is kinda pricey, I thought the bulk 12gauge from Impact Accoustics offered the most value/performance. I've also heard that the best termination is NO termination, so I'm leaning that way. My system is a totally reburbished Pioneer SX-980 ($250 for the receiver, $304.54 for the work), a Sansui TU-717 ($175 for the tuner, $213.98 for the work) an unmodified Denon DVD-2900, and a pair of Decware Radial 1.5 loudspeakers. My wire is 20 feet, so I'm hoping 12gauge should be plenty thick enough? As a side-bar, do you have any opinion of Dakiom stabilizers? Many, many thanks for your time and great articles!!
