Did you ever start to do something and then get sidetracked and hours later you think you’re done, but you still never did what you started out to do in the first place? My entertainment center has glass shelves and they collect dust like magnets so it seems I have to dust them twice per week to keep them looking decent. When I have something to review that involves my system the I like them really clean of course! I got something interesting from Sewell coming up for review and I decided to clean it all up yesterday. I did the shelves and the components etc, then I noticed the metal brackets that hold the glass had collected dust and needed cleaning as well, they’re rectangular and are under the glass shelves holding them up all the way around. This involved me removing everything from the entertainment center and that’s when I noticed the rat’s nest of cables and power cords and network cables I had going on back there and I didn’t know what plug was for what and everything was just really hard to separate and get untangled. So, brilliant me, thought hey let’s clean it up a bit and label things so I know what’s what back there. I grabbed my Epson LabelWorks LW-400 Label Printer and started going at it, labeling the HDMI cables, the power cords and even the Ethernet cables. The process was time consuming, most of which was untangling things. Then once things were labeled I went about putting things back and tidying up the wires, re-routing them, and using zipties to shorten the longer ones. Amazingly this process took me all day and into the evening and when I was all done I realized I never dusted the metal brackets that were holding up the shelves that I originally started out doing…. So I guess it’ll get done another day as I’ve had enough cleaning and organizing…
