ok i have to say that this ipod is kind of cool mostly because it comes it different colors.i do have one of these but i am not really happy with it ok first of all the battery lasts a little bit .the battery power is not good so don't buy one unless you want to be charging it all the time.and second of all the volume is only average and third of all the screen is not that big and the shake is so annoying.take this from someone who actually has this ipod.now i have an ipod nano the 3rd generation because i was not happy with the other one.so i am just saying that this isn't worth the money and if your going to buy an ipod then buy the ipod nano 3rd generation it is wayyy better.the screen is perfect for watching videos.the volume could go way high.it is better and more comfortable to put in your pocket.it is better selling than this one.sure it only comes in like 5 colors but who cares you could just buy a cover for it or something.i do think this ipod is great but just not worth buying because people mostly use ipods for when they are in the car on a long trip and this ipod only has a little battery and the ipod 3rd generation has more battery life.i just think these ipods are a waste of money mostly because of the battery life.if your going to buy one then buy a charger that you can use in the car for it.sorry if i ruined anybody's eximent but this is my opinion.

We can only speculate on the reason Apple would do change a standard that has been working well for years, and here's my guess: to make more money by selling more chargers.

I agree with an earlier post - this is an environmentally disastrous move. All those older chargers going in the trash? If only we could leave them on Apple's doorstep instead.

Maybe if we become vocal enough, the despots at Apple will come around and stop this type of behavior.

So here is another post to heap up onto the pile, Apple: I'm returning the 4G Nano. You pay the restocking costs, and lose the profit from that sale, and from any other sale to me until you fix the present issue as well as change you egregious behavior in the future.

I bought the Nano 4gb as a gift to my parents for Christmas. My mom likes my Bose Sound Dock and wanted to purchase one. When I docked the Nano to my Bose it played fine but I noticed that a screen on the Nano popped up saying that it cannot charge. I was totally bummed out. I still have my 2nd gen ipod which still works great nad best of all is always charging on my Sound Dock. I don't think what Apple did was cool. I'm even thinking of returning the Nano and getting a refund for something else.

I just returned my Red product 8G Nano today after having it for 2 days. It wouldn't charge on the Bose Sound Dock and it wouldn't play at all in my Mopar Car Integration kit in my Jeep. I own a previous model Nano and have NEVER had any problems. I recieved the new 4th Gen Nano as a Christmas gift from my husband and was originally delighted that I got an upgrade with a bigger screen, more space for songs and photos, etc....but I'm disgusted that Apple would come out with a new product that is not compatible with so many accessories. I'm not going to buy another Bose Sound Dock for $400, or have another car integration kit installed by Jeep for $350, just to accomodate my new $169 Nano. That's BS. What was Apple thinking? Apple, you don't launch an upgraded product at an inconveniece to the consumer!!!! One step forward and two back. That's just down-right sneaky.
So, I'll gladly go back to using my old Nano with no thoughts of considering buying any of your new products regardless of the so-called advances in technology. I got my money back and you can keep your sneaky product. I'm determined to voice my experience to all those who are considering an upgrade.

And a final thought...I was incredibly loyal to you before this and that relationship has now ended.

This whole charging issue on existing docks is the final straw for me with Apple. (I purchased a new Nano for my daughter and it will not charge on her speaker-dock)

I will not support a company who has this kind of total disregard for their customers to make a change like this. Also, I hear Apple fanboys talk about how environmentally conscience the company is. I guess obsoleting millions of perfectly good accessories is OK if it's Apple doing it. Most other companies would be roasted over something like this.

I'm one of those folks who for a long time adored the Apple iPod without any regrets. This "relationship" however has come to a crossroads! For my birthday, my wife gifted me a brand new 4th Gen Nano, red product and I instantly fell in love with it. Upon further use I have a few complaints though. The biggest complaint that I have is that my Apple Hi-Fi no longer charges the Nano.....wait a minute....I paid some good money for the Hi-Fi and now it won't charge my Nano! What the hell happened here, did Apple just think I was going to go and buy another boombox to hook up to this new Nano? Are they on crack? It's way too late for me to take the Nano back to the store, but you know what...if I could go back in time, I would and not buy the Nano....what a joke! Can't believe Apple would pull a stunt like that on their loyal fan base. Lesson learned, no more Apple for me.

I'm suprised that nobody seems very upset by the fact that this 4th generation nano will not charge on most of the accessories out there. I was going to buy one for my wife, but I want to get a dock for my receiver that will also charge. What was Apple thinking by making that stupid change? I find it frusterating that they would try to make so many existing products obsolete for no good reason.
