I just finished this game for PC and loading times were almost nil. I agree that the upgrade system is extremely weak and the ending gave you a half done feeling because of the shortness of the game, and lack of emotion in what little story there was. Another thing that seriously irritated me about the game is the way that it is designed to feel like an open world where you can choose any route to reach the destination, but several times during the game I found myself walking into invisible walls with my destination point directly in front of me.

I'm sorry but anon is right. It's hard to take your review seriously with so many grammatical errors. Throwing commas everywhere isn't good grammar and makes me wonder if you paid any attention in English class.

That said, the content of your review is pretty good. It's a better representation of this game on the 360 than most reviews. Of course, all of your technical gripes would be null if you had played it on the PC, but most people game on 360s. I'm shocked it loads so slowly on the 360. On the PC, it always loads in about 5 seconds.

Way to be the better man in the review world, save your grammar.

First off; Anon is an idiot.

Anywho. I played the demo of the game, and agreed with almost all of the points in your review. I played the game, and very much looked forward to the game, and all of the possible things you could do with time travel, changing History, and all of that... And what do I... What do we get? A half done... if that, not even half done game.

Now I got it for PC, and the problems you describe having, I have the opposite, it looks as if the game was meant for PC, and the conversion over to Console, destroyed a lot of the codeing or something? or maybe I just have an epic comp. But I've had no chopping, and my loading screens for this game are actually faster than most.

Anyway back to what I was saying in the first place, it seems like they didn't finish the game, or someone was rushing them, but the storyline is very, very weak. they could have put far more things for you to do. come awn guys, this is a time travel games, make it longer? odd things happen? meet aliens, something. I like most of you guys I would assume, like long games with good storyline, and I expected this to be one, but what do I, we get? A half ass game, weather it was rushed, or the writers were shit...

Whatever the reason, I personally rate this game a 4 out of 10.

Sorry for my run on post... I liked the game.. but I'm not happy I spent 40$ on steam to buy it.

Y'know, that's one thing wonderful about the world in general, you're entitled to your own opinion.

...and the background info about Dexter doesn't have anything at all to do with the plot, except maybe that you might want to know his story and how he got there, but it has nothing to do with the game plot.

As far as grammatical errors, yes I see there's an apostrophe there that shouldn't be... Maybe I could have shortened the sentence a bit, but it's one complete thought, breaking it up would have meant breaking up the though itself.

Other than that, thanks or your input, and it's nice to be able to express your opinions openly isn't it?

I really disliked your review. Your writing is pretty shabby in places. For example:

"Today for review I’ve got Darkest of Days for the Xbox360, and it’s a game like no other really, it’s premise is time travel, it’s a first person shooter and one that allows you to fulfill your time traveling fantasies. When I first heard about this game I was rather excited, it sounded like a great idea, the screen shots and trailers I saw looked fantastic, but once I started playing the game I quickly realized that it just wasn’t all I was hoping for."

There are quite a few grammatical errors and much of your phrasing is awkward sounding. Here's a quick revision:

"'Darkest of Days' (available on both PC and Xbox 360) is a game like no other. When I first heard of this first person shooter, I was rather excited. Its premise is to allow you to fulfill your time traveling fantasies. Screen shots and trailers looked fantastic, and the concept is a great idea. However, once I started playing, I quickly realized that it just wasn’t all that I was hoping for."

Also, I'm not sure how much of a spoiler it is, but the background information about Dexter may be ruining some of the plot, although it looks like you mentioned it as a warning to people who could be upset by the details you mentioned.

[...] Darkest of Days Xbox360 Review Time travel, we’ve all thought about it, it’s a fantasy of most everyone really, what if we could go back and change history for the better, or for the worse. A first person shooter based on that premise might be rather good right? It would have to be handled correctly though and done right to make it a good game. What if you could go back to the Civil War with a pulse cannon and kick some butt, or back to another part of history and change the tide of war, in the game I have for review today you can do that and more. Sounds like a great game right, well it is and it isn’t… ____________ Review: Testfreaks [...]
