I am thinking about buying the Epson WorkForce 1100. My application is to print images on canvas and then over paint. I am not so concerned about image quality. Just want to make sure that the canvas can be used as a “paper type” on the 11oo. The approximate thickness of the canvas is 18mil. Also, Epson offers a Premium Canvas Matte. Do you know if these canvases could be processed through the 1100 or if there is some obstruction that would prevent processing.

printer was not detected please turn on printer and connect the usb cable to the computer and printer
when installing on xp only.

I’m having the same problem as Barbara Mcdonald is having. I can’t get my epson 1100 to print 12 x 12 paper. I too, want to use it for scrapbooking, but can’t get the darned thing to do it. Even when I specify 12 x 12 size paper, it won’t work. HELP???

I recently bought this printer from Epson based on price & format. I have 3 other printers (also Epson) this one I find to have MANY flaws on its printer dialog box and controls. It is not a good marriage with photoshop or Quark. It uses more ink than my other, and the problems are basically dismissed from tech support.

Very disappointed in this product. Probably a good basic printer, but not, in my opinion anything close to the hype.

Will be returning this one.

I can’t get my espon 1100 to print 12×12 why? Please give me instructions how to get it to print my scrapebook papers. That was the reason I purchase this printer.

I like your review, but one thing that I would like to know is, does it print on transperiences. The Epson website says know, but there is a reviewer that states that it does however print transperencies.

Thank you for a refreshingly unbiased review. I just bought an 1100 based on your critique and everything you’ve said is true. It’s an excellent printer that clearly outshines HP’s DeskJet Pro 8000 which I’ve had to junk. It, and the 8500 can’t handle Photoshop, Word and other basics. You’ve put a happy ending on six weeks of HP grief. Thanks!

This multifunction printer isn’t marred by the errors of its predecessors, but it still needs improvement before it can keep up with the competition. Right now, its pleasing photo quality and satisfactory output speed don’t justify the $170 price tag and lack of features.
