What follows is an unedited transcript of a conversation between a Skins Factory Customer and Jeff Schader Chief Executive Officer of The Skins Factory inc.
CUSTOMER
Having admired the skins factories work for a while I chose to purchase and download a Hyperdesk Theme. While installing the skin my AVG package identified a medium MALWARE threat that was quarantined C:WINDOWSINSTALLERMSIEFDF.TMP. Finishing the installation the hyperdesk would not "load selected features" I have removed and reinstalled Hyperdesk and it still shows the same errors and will not load selected features or restore windows can you please advise. Many thanks
JEFF
It's a false positive. We see it occasionally with Norton too. The only thing Hyperdesk does is check back with our server to see if there is an update. The installers haven't been updated in over a year, some even longer. Try turning off the virus while running the installer or if possible excluding Hyperdesk. Not sure how AVG works. Given the amount of themes people have purchased and how many run virus programs, it's nothing to worry about.
You can try downloading it again:

Hi Jeff
Thanks for the reply, I turned off all security software n re-downloaded the file selecting "repair" this enabled the media player skin and changed half the visible icons. I uninstalled the program restarted the computer re-installed from new with the same effect, the background, windows, most of the icons remained Windows 7 standard. You advertising shows Windows 7 compatible then u add that there may be issues on windows 7 and now I find that your skins do not work on Windows 7.
JEFF
Our software does work on Windows 7. I never stated there were problems with our software on Windows 7.
CUSTOMER
My apologies you did not state personally that there were issues with Windows 7 but part way through the payment and download process a disclaimer is displayed stating that there are some issues with Windows 7 and that users should visit a specified page for support. Having tried repairing a failed install caused by my Virus Software and then removing and re-installing the windows skin my purchased product has replaced a couple of the visible icons and the media player skin, the background, windows edges, fonts, majority of icons have remained windows standard. I do not wish to upset you or cause you to become defensive over your product I only want for the purchased skin and overlay to work. I have previously used the alienguise skins on XP machines and was very much looking forward to using a true skins factory product. I am disabled and confined to a wheelchair my PC is my portal to friends and much of my shopping and entertainment, the appearance of my OS and my computers overall functionality is pretty important to me.
I would very much appreciate your assistance in getting the skin to install or instructions for manually the components
JEFF
You install the skin by clicking the installer. That's about it. We can't control how another application works with ours, in this case an anti-virus program. I have no idea what AVG did/does to our theme installer. So I'm not sure how to help you to otherwise say find out if you can exclude the application, download the theme and then try again.
CUSTOMER
If you had read my email you would know that the last attempt to install your software was done with no other programs running. I have tried to install Hyperdesk several times using both the links you sent. With the same result a part install that does not work. Reviewing your help links on your site it seems that the same answer is offered “err well shucks if it err don’t work then err golly I just don’t know or care”. Thanks for not helping thanks for the informative and comprehensive help and assistance it’s real appreciated.
JEFF
I'll be happy to refund your money. And shove your threats up your fucking ass.
CUSTOMER
WTF u got defensive over your product from misreading my mails, you offered repetitive flawed advice again from not having read my mails and now you responding to threats...WHAT THREATS, read your our messages I have only asked for your assistance in getting your Hyperdesk suite to work on a Windows x64 bit system. It obviously doesn’t.

This was a "customer Support" discussion between a customer and the founder of the company;

Jesh, Aug 31 13:11 (EDT):
You know what? You're a rude prick. I'll refund your money. Don't contact us again.

Pjdetloff1, Aug 31 13:05 (EDT):
Dear "Customer Support" agent. I apologize for my hasty regard to your company. Unfortunately I have had someone close to me pass away recently and it has not made me the most pleasant person to be around. This does not give me the excuse to be rude to anyone even if I feel that I may have been taken advantage of financially. Thank you for reminding me of my own personal flaws, through your lack of actual care for your company's "pleasant" reputation of what I am sure will continue to be horrible customer support.

In regard to your extremely rude way of asking me for my order number it is as follows, 54046016
I did download the 64-Bit windows 7 skin, applied it as instructed and all that happened was as I stated previously, the wallpaper changed and the icons did. The widget does not seem to work on my computer, but I was not as concerned with that. Also, please inform me of that way to reach your manager, or to reach your highest supervisor it would be very much appreciated. Once again I apologize for my hasty reaction in the previous message. It was unnecessary and uncalled for, enjoy your day.

Jesh, Aug 31 12:45 (EDT):
Oh we try to make a habit of "ripping people off". It's a great business model and one that will lead our company to success. How about an order number to start? And there's no sound fx accept for the widget and the actual application. Not for Windows itself. Did you even download the proper version? I don't know because you were so busy asking us if we "ripped you off" you didn't include it.

Pjdetloff1, Aug 31 12:40 (EDT):
Hi there, I bought your Star Trek Desktop skin and it was supposed to alter a lot of things from the advertisement including windows and such, all it altered were the desktop icons, and the wallpaper. There are no sound effects, no different windows, I was curious if this was an issue or if in fact I was ripped off. Thank you so much for your time!
