First of all, I'm sure I'd agree with you that this is a lousy game if I tried it. But some of your arguments against the game sound a little weird to me. For example, would you tell your friend not to buy NBA Jam cause he could easily be outside playing real basketball with his real buddies? Tag is a stupid inane game to us grownups, but to a six year old it's awesome, and they like to play simulations of games they like in real life--just like we do.
And anyway, a lot of kids are playing these games when the option of doing it in real life isn't there, like at night before bed, riding in a car or plane, in waiting rooms, etc. (if only that's how it was with most kids!)

All that said, I totally agree with just about everything else you said. I just watched the trailers, and OMG, tthose kids look creepy as heck. They look like jagged-edged South Park characters, many of whom walk around like they have central nervous system problems. The lessons concerning friendship are also troubling--you shouldn't have to bribe kids to play with you! A game aimed at young children should be a little more careful with the messages they send.
All in all, thanks for the well-informed detailed review. After reading several similar reviews, I'll be saving my daughter from disappointment on Christmas day by buying her a different game.
