Thank you!! this is one of the most helpful article on the web.....

I was thinking of buying this cooler but the installation part is rather intimidating to me...

Some say it's difficult to install, some say it's easy.. I really wonder..

I think I will go ahead and buy the cooler.

A simple "Thank you" for the review you did, and video you put up. I'm researching different cooling fans, with the primary goal being noise reduction given that dust buildup is a problem where I live (I even use a dust filter bag that encases the entire case, an Antec 900). Oh, I've got an Intel Socket i7 CPU, on an MSI X58 Pro Motherboard (I imagine it's an entry level motherboard?) with Windows 7 OS.

I'd bought two Noctua fans to replace the stock fans that came with the case for noise reduction, and you're right they ARE whisper quiet. Now I'm hoping that by installing this heat sink you reviewed will totally drop the sound level (my machine is REALLY loud, and I think I've lost hearing on the right side...go figure).
Once again, thank you

Just got the new mounting kit to mount the Noctua NH-C12P in my girlfriend's new i7 build. I'm not sure why having a thick backplate was such an issue for you, but the entire mounting kit was so easy a 4 year old nephew could properly put that thing together.

It makes removing the heatsink/fan assembly a non-issue as you DO NOT HAVE TO get the backplate off -- just two screws -- and that thick rubber is a nice insulator, no? So really, compared to, say, the Thermalright TRUE, it's child's play.
