Most flash drives have only a small amount of flash that can operate at max speed. The rest is slow flash. Could be the case with this drive as well.

A hard drive will easily beat a cheap USB flash stick for sustained transfer. An external SSD would also be an option — a flash drive that’s 100% fast flash. But neither is as convenient as a USB flash stick.

Guys I need help. Just recently bought one of these. The drive has the red led (Same as in the review). I formatted this drive to NTFS at 32 KB allocation.
The problem I am having is for initial 10-15 seconds, the drive seems to transfer files at around 17 MB/s. But then things drastically slows down until the drive reaches approx 4-5MB/s
Can anyone help me with this? Is there anything I can do? Or Is there a firmware update that I can apply?
Also, the packaging was similar to what is describe above, but the inside leaflet was Blue instead of Orange.
Your help would be appreciated.

I just bought this (my packaging is in blue however). I’m only getting 4MB/s write speeds…

File system?
Allocation size?
