May i help you. You have to format your USB as NTFS so after that you can copy big files like 5.46GB.
I hope that my english is not hard to understand .

Bought both 8gb and 16gb Flash Attache PNY’s and tried to copy 5.46 gb video to them. Neither would copy. Got error “The file (fn.avi) is too large for destination file system”. Using Dell/Vista system. Anyone know why it won’t copy?

I bought one and returned it (for another) and both have the same problem: cannot copy a 5 GB file to it, even when it’s empty. The file has no issue with my internal HDD and an external, USB HDD. When I rebooted with the drive connected to USB (rather than plugging in afterwards as I usually do) the system asked me several times to send info to MS about some unknown error (since that was the only difference, I assume that was related to the issue). It fails on another machine as well. These are Windows XP SP1 and Windows XP SP2 machines. I’ll be returning it for a full refund.

The reason it doesn’t work on Windows NT is because Windows NT does not support USB.

Beware: the 16gb version of the PNY capless USB thingy does not work on the Xbox 360 with the new USB drive update, it fails the data loss test and cannot be used, despite formatting on the PC I have and using it without problems there, it fails to work on the Xbox 360. Very irritating.

I just picked up one of these expecting to transfer a 13GB file on to it by tomorrow so I could give it to a friend. Too bad copying that 13GB file will take 154 hours and even if I could leave it plugged in and turned on for that long I’ll be leaving town before it could finish.

I guess even if I bought the best drive which was included in the benchmark I still wouldn’t have been able to finish copying 13GB overnight. I guess flash drives are FAR slower than hard disks (using the same USB 2.0 interface on the same laptop). It took about 4 hours to copy this file on a “Western Digital Passport” hard drive as opposed to this estimated 154 hour transfer time for the PNY Atache. I don’t recommend the Passport, btw, they fail pretty quickly.

Maybe I’ll buy a solid state drive next.

Yours may work, but mine does not.
The box clearly says that it should work with Windows NT, yet it does not work at all.
It does work with my Vista Computer.
But I need it to work with both NT and Vista, and it does not
