I would love to update the firmware.. it wont even update... tells me to unplug it and replug it again. I have tried every USB port. the config screen lets me choose my buttons, but after hitting apply / ok .. none of the buttons work how I put them. I tried all of the fixes on the support forum, put button 3 as #3 on keyboard 4=#4... etc, opened note pad, nope.. none of the asssigned buttons do what I want.

I DL latest drivers/ firmware. have rebooted. installed/uninstalled.. at least 7 times. The mouse works as a regular mouse, but I bought this being left handed to use buttons as I need...

Nothing Works right

I've had nothing but problems with the Lachesis on 2 different machines. It also causes a high pitched whine from my desktop. Windows 7 contstatnly forgets the lachesis driver and just like others here, Razr pretends they've never heard of such things when I contact them.

I updated teh drivers and firmware and the problems are the same. The mouse never performed any better than the $15 mice you get with systems for free. Actually the $15 mice are better since they actually work.

Both my XP machine and WIndows 7 machine have problems with the Lachesis. Exact same problems everyone else is having. What does that tell you?

Just want to add my voice to the chorus of people saying dont buy this mouse.

I got it, had the problem which people talk about here where you lose cursor movement but everything else is fine. Updated firmware/drivers. No improvement. Contacted Razer, they act like no one has ever had the problem i experienced and make me go through a huge list of tests. Once none of that works they tell me it must be a faulty one and to return it to the retailer.

So i do and i get another one and it does the same thing. I think fuck i must be the unluckiest guy on earth two get two faulty mice in a row from the top quality razer products. So i return it again. Store chick goes mental tells me i have a faulty USB and they wont replace it any more.

So i keep the third one boxed until i get a new system on the off chance she is right about my USB port (even though other mice work fine and the USB port works fine with other shit in it) until i get a new system. New motherboard, new power supply, new everything.

So tonight the third one of these motherfucking pieces of shit breaks down on me. What a piece of crap. I have got out my old $10 microsoft mouse which has outlasted 3 of these razer pieces of junk. I will research more carefully before i buy another high end gaming mouse and it most definitely will not be from Razer.

I hope my experience saves you wasting your own time/money. STAY AWAY!!!

DO NOT buy anything from razer, 3 mice and 1 keyboard in, and NONE have been worth the hard earned cash i've shelled out for them, i first bought the razer copperhead, which worked amazingly well for everything for a whole month, then the laser took a shit in it, and they wouldnt replace it. second i bought the lechesis mouse and the lycosa board, the mouse jumps and hops all over, and there arent any fixes for it that i know of...and the keyboard, aside from the touchpad is awesome, the touchpad died on me after 3 months, so i can no longer dim or do anything aside from use it as a regular keyboard. Avoid razer at all costs, just go buy the g12 series logitech...MUCH better peripherals.

Temporarely solution until the company fixes the issues or u get a new mouse is to uninstall its drivers and just reboot ur windows or whatever OS and windows will just rekodnize it as a standard mouse. Atleast that way you can use this crappy mouse again... Cheers and beware of 2012...

I have a Lachesis, it works perfectly in Winders 7, and it also worked perfectly in Vista.
Even though gamers don't use Linux much... it works perfectly there too !!!

The only problems I have encountered have been due to dust and cat hair....
It's incedibly sensitive to dust.... some-times the mouse seems completely dead, other times it jumps all over the place.

It's always DUST..... people need to stop playing and clean their work/game spaces !!

A Pro Gamer's opinion:
I've been using the Razer Lachesis for almost 2 years now. I'm a Claw Grip style gamer, and my palm is about 2cm away from the back of it. So i disagree with this article in that its too big, but I have pretty long fingers.
I have experienced no drift or misclicks at all with this mouse. I use it 98% with their Destructor mouse pad and have zero problems.
I find this mouse to work very well for me, and I'm a bit of a mouse snob.
That being said, I'm in the market for a new mouse.. I want to find something even bigger, approx 2cm longer. Not sure if they make a mouse like that anywhere though..

I have CPL, WCG Grand Final and probably 20 LAN Tournament wins under my belt.

When this mouse works, it suits me fine despite the normal size/shape complaints which are due to MY limitations and would have been noticed by using one before hand.
I have owned this mouse about 1 month-- Win7 64 bit. I have updated the drivers and firmware several times in an attempt to fix possible bad downloads but I still have problems with the cursor being frozen on bootup at times plus episodes of skipping or freezing momentarily during use (not a happy situation in virtual combat) which would seem to be one of the primary errors to be addressed in the development of a gaming mouse. The workaround I found was to plug in my old MS Sidewinder and use it to shutdown (instead of computer restart button). The Sidewinder was as solid as a rock (plus had VERTICALLY stacked buttons on left side) but I wanted more buttons and speed for gaming-- MISTAKE!!!! Being deceived by Razer's rep (my first Razer mouse) I bought into the Lachesis promise. The cursor is quite shaky as reported earlier but not noticable during game play where is skitters about anyway, the whell will frequently not scroll in default setup and I can not get the left button assignments, as forward and back, to work when I change back to a default "everyday" slowed down setting. The programming environment is not very intuitive either when it does work. If I had seen this site and the overwhelming amount of complaints before purchase I would never have bought a Razer mouse of any kind. I do not expect to ever buy another Razer product since I now realize that this is a product of AMERICAN gamers' concept, CHINESE design, typical CHINESE inattention to detail, CHINESE manufacture and modern AMERICAN marketing duplicity being sold at a price that far exceeds its worth. I have been using computers heavily both at home and at work since the mid 1980s using Logitech or MS mice which always exceeded my requirements with very, very few problems.

I've had the Lachesis for over a year now. I use it for online poker and have lost more money from the drifting and misclicks than for what its worth.

I the driver update v1.94 helped quite a bit but precision slow movements drive me crazy with the drift & jumps.

My finger tip area is worn out and hade to put a band aid on it ...pretty ghetto eh?? lol

Only thing I liked about it was the shape (small hands/not small u know what tho) lol...and the cool blinky lights.

Well just dumped it and bought a Logitech G500 ..which is much better with movements but could use a higher DPI (only 2000).

I would not recommend the Lachesis.

For all, DON´T BUY THIS MOUSE. I have seen reading many sites and many people have same problem but there aren´t any solution.

I tried plug and unplug, reboot my pc, clean sensor, other PCs, install and unistall drivers/firmware, different USB and always the same shit.
This mouse have several serious problems from manufacturing, so if you can RETURN it fast and get your money make it.

If you don´t beleive me search like me about it. NO solutions, BEST CRAP MOUSE of Raizer. I will never buy one from this company...
