You can change to Google search its built into the phone i found that after having it for 5 minutes. I'm not sure what your looking for i find the performance of this phone more than satisfactory. It does hang up when trying to call menu's to quickly or hitting the touchscreen on the backside of the screen. When browsing the internet using the touch pad takes a second to get used to but when you do it really make the interface very fast. Texting is a breeze with either the flip keypad or the built in android touch keypad. I've had the phone for a month and am very impressed so far.

I'm 14 and absolutely LOVE mine. Mine doesn't crashes? I can easily text, go on the internet, and listen to music. And all of my friends think it's real cool how it flips...It is slow when it's being turned on but does it really matter? I would recommend a cover though, because if dropped, it scratches the sides pretty easily. And being a teen, I drop my phones a lot.:) And to the yahoo situation, Just take a couple seconds to go to Google's website?! Jeez they say kids are lazy!!

It crashes all the time. I think it has to do with the software version 13.xx..because my other Backflip with 12.xx do not have this issue. It would just reboots aften or just slow and freezes. I wouldn't not recommend this phone.

I have always liked Motorola. However, I don't think I could hate this phone any more than I do. The screen is either too sensitive (and suddenly you're calling someone you weren't meaning to call) or too difficult to cancel, (phone jumps to home page and calls number and once you figure out how to get it back to a screen to hang up, you have to hit the disconnect button numerous times before it will actually hang up.
Battery life is most of a day unless I use it, and then suddenly there is the 15 minutes until the phone is dead alarm.
The keyboard doesn't always work. Sometimes it's necessary to push on the letter button several times before the letter will actually appear on the screen.
The backtrack feature is nice, however if you tap it to select something on the screen, it will sometimes select it, and other times it takes several attempts to make it work. I have found that if I use the backtrack to navigate the screen and tap the selected item physically on the screen I get better results.
You can't adjust the font size. It's small. There is a rumor that there will be a download fix that will enable you to change the font size. My guess is that if you put your right hand in your pocket and keep it there until the download is available, you'll be left-handed the rest of your life.

I got this phone about a month ago as an upgrade. I actually "purchased" it thru the Walmart Lets Talk site, so I paid nothing - not even shipping. Mine did arrive in a box and I did NOT get the plastic covering with any identifiers except for the plastic on the backside mouse/scroll pad. (I am really starting to wonder about why the packaging and other minor things are so different depending on who ships it???)

I'm not highly technical so for me the phone works pretty good. My niece has the Verizon Droid (that she bought unlocked since she is an AT&T customer like me) and we have compared our phones, of course! She likes that the BF comes with more screens than hers & she actually does like the "flip" design, but overall, we both agree that her phone is faster and more reliable. Mine crashes or force closes more than hers. Also, I did notice that it takes a LONG time to boot up - which is really annoying b/c I was instructed to do a shut down and/or battery removal ever so often to improve performance. As far as the keyboard and screen being exposed, I don't really have much problem with that since I have trained myself to automatically lock the screen when I drop the phone in my pocket or purse. BTW - my niece has different marketplace options than I. She was able to download something to add more screens to her phone & she also got an app called "Lookout" that does just about everything my Motoblur acct does (locate lost phone, restore info, etc)... All in all, I am not unhappy with the phone. I got it for free and as a basic phone, text and web user, I don't think I will run into the aggro that a more technical-minded user would. Hope this info helped someone.
