The drive is o.k but the buyers need to know the UGLY truth. After sometime the the detachable cable becomes loose in external drives….as a result the detection of the drive in OS becomes problem. Every time you need to make effort by continuously adjusting the position of the USB drive. I searched a lot with a USB drive with nondetachable cable. but so far i didn’t found any. If anyone found it plz inform here. thanks

and 1 more thing… is it usable as a ordinary internal hd? for both laptops and pc? coz i just thought that it has a sata interface right? w/o the adapter im just wondering… and also if u can react about which is better? WesternDigital’s Passport or this one? thanks pls let us know about theirs pros and cons. thanks again.

This is good review… it really help me find out what external hd should i buy… but i am really wondering what is the rpm of this thing? is it 5400rmp or 7200rpm? could any one pls tell me? cause Ive read some reviews also and Ive seen something like it that says 7200rpm and the thing is till now if its really 7200rpm this is the only one Ive seen…

And one thing, what is the difference between the pro one and this? i couldn’t stand to say that its sad that the usb 3.0 cable is not detachable… thanks for review did a great job.

Yes it will work, but it will have a slow tranfer rate as usb 1.1 is very slow compared to usb 2.0
Just be prepared to wait a while (depending on how big the files you are tranfering)

Hi, I am using Seagate GoFlex Ultra Portable Drive. This is a superb piece of kit. I am am running Vista Home premium and the software is running seamlessly in the background updating the files I want it to. I am running the Memeo Backup Premium Software.

I have an older computer with 1.1 USB. Will the GoFlex work on this usb? I want to remove my old files and install them on a new computer I have purchased.
