Try the same hard drive on USB 3.0 for exemple… the internal hard drive cache rpm and whatever are seriously not to even be mentioned when it comes to external hard drives…. the HDD itself is way faster that the interface anyway…

These branded external hard drives are expensive – go for unbranded ones – they are a lot cheaper and generally as fast if not faster.

Remember bottleneck is USB and not the drives – and benchmarks need to be run over 30 times for proper aggregated results.
