Hello, having a little difficulty here…pls help…

Ok i have a Sony Bravia (model # is KDL-40V2500), i have a DirectTV DVR box (no HDMI outputs but 1 Optical) and a PS3 and finally a Sony HT-CT150. I’ve tried following the setup on the manual that came with the CT150 but i’m like getting lost here. Basically what i’m asking is, what are the steps to connect everything and make it work the way it should…i have 2 HDMI cables and 1 optical cable….pls help….

Hi,
I bought Sony LCD Bravia and Sony Home Theatre. How do I connect TV , Home Theatre and a DTH STB (Direct To Home – Set Top Box). I am able to get excellent sound while playing a DVD..however not able to get the clariy while watching normal prgrams in TV..

I, too, fell in love with the Sony CT100. I have a unique problem. My 50″ plasma TV was stolen, along with the sound bar. The stupid thieves left the sub-woofer.

When I went to replace my system, they were out of new Sony CT100s but there was a returned one on sale. That was fine, since I only needed the sound bar.

Now, I have an extra sub-woofer, and I cannot buy just the sound bar, even from Sony. Any ideas? I hate tossing the sub-woofer if I could use it with another TV.

I just got a new soundbar and hooked up to my Hitachi LCD. My problem is that I have a audio/video synch issue when I watch the Verizon FIOS and when I watch the Blu Ray player the same synch issues occrs when I use the soundbar. I used all HDMI cables for my connections. When I watch the Blu Ray and Fios direct without going thru soundbar, I don’t have any synch issues.

I even had tried the delay feature on the soundbar. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I replaced an old monster television in my motorhome with a nice, new, flat-screen. Since it’s built in and completely surrounded by a cabinet, the sound was horrible…..you simply couldn’t hear it. After some investigation I settled on the CT100 and couldn’t be more pleased with it. I was able to mount the center speaker under an overhead storage cabinet directly facing the bed from the foot, and the subwoofer fits nicely under a shelf below. Routing the wiring was the greatest challenge. I was also puzzled about getting the display to show on the television screen, which I find out from reading this review is not possible. Too bad since I have to get down on my hands and knees to see the settings. Oh well…..not all that bad since the only thing I’ll really change is the input and volume, both of which can be done from the remote.

The sound from my TV is very low. How can I improve on that? I have it connected with an optical cable and not the one that came with the system.

We just bought a New Sony Bravia TV with a home theater system
But why won’t the subwoofer and center speaker won’t work?
And is there any way of using the speakers from the DVD player to the TV?

@Ramon – just connect all devices (cablre box,DVD\BD PLAVER, Game system) to the ct100 via HDMI. Then you will need an HDMI cable to go from you ct100 to your TV. You will use the ct100 to switch between sources. If you watch over the air HDTV then you may connect an optical cable from the tv to the ct100.

The quick answer is you will need 1 extra HDMI cable (ct100 out) then the number of devices you have.

I have the same question like Sean Santiago, except I dnt have a cable box. So basically my questions are….How many HDMI cables do I need?( I have 2 of them, 1 currently connected from my ps3 to my tv and the other still in it’s package), How exactly do I connect the HDMI cables to the sound bar? I mean do I leave the 1 connected from my ps3 to the TV and than hook up the other cable from the sound bar to the other HDMI tv port?? Sorry if this sounds confusing, I just ordered mine from Amazon but for some reason I feel like it’s not going to work out for me. As if I wasted my money since I won’t know how to make it work right. Thanx

When I try to record (on my DVD recorder), a DVD that is playing on my Sony Home Theatre DVD player, it records visually perfect, but there is no recorded sound.
I have tested all leads and equipment and there seems to be nothing wrong, but I can’t figure out what to do.

Connect your Cable and PS3 via HDMI cables for sound and video. No need for the optical cables. Change your PS3 audio to PCM and you’re all set. I also have my Xbox360 hooked up to it and it sounds great.
