I have a recurring problem when I'm typing, it seems I'm touching something on this Mini and all of a sudden the text disappears...I cannot find any information on how to deal with or recover the lost text...Can you or anyone here help me with this? What causes this and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

The Verizon wireless aircard works great for me with one exception--when I turn it off and try to close it, my computer crashes briefly to the blue screen (a momentary flash) and then automatically reboots. I never lose any information, but the constant rebooting is annoying and takes a lot of time. I have updated as much as the HP firmware as I can and the VZ Access Manager tells me that I have the most recent updates. Any thoughts or solutions?

A trick I used to use on a laptop with a touchy touch pad would be to put a business card over the touch pad with just one side taped down. This way I could flip the card over and use the mouse pad and flip it back to cover it up. This kept my palms from touching the pad.

i too am wondering how to cure this jumping cursor issue I seem to have on the HP mini. I love love this netbook and really have no complaints other than the issue of the jumping cursor when i am typing which is annoying when writing college papers! I had the Gateway netbook from Verizon initally but after so many issues with that I gave in and spent the extra cash to get the Mini and couldnt be happier!

Please let me know how to deal with the cursor, I ve been on so many sites and discussions and nothing has seemed to work!

Hi,
i'm going to be going to college in a few months and i'm looking on which netbook i should get from verizon.I want the HP mini 311 but i read your conclusion for the gateway and you said it wasn't that bad. so im thinking which i should get. The Hp mini 311 costs $200 while the gateway cost $50. i'm on the internet alot and hate it when its really slow. is there really a big difference on the internet speed it has even when you just use wifi? you have mentioned in your Gateway LT 2016u Netbook review that you might have to scroll sideways for you to see the screen, will you have to do this with the HP mini 311 too? i don't play video games alot but like watching videos and skyping. are thier webcams pretty decent? and is it possible to watch dvd's on these netbooks? please help me make a choice. Thank you so much!

Thank you for taking the time and doing a thorough job on the HP netbook. I have found that I make fewer typing mistakes when I used only capital letters. Further, the broadb ane connect is very easy and usually works fast unless there is a lot of traffic in the area.
Third, mine has frozen about 12-15 times in 3 months and the only thing that worked was turning it off. I have since come to realize that this may be due to Windows downloads that I am unaware of., When you sign off it will say with blue background that do not turn machine off as 1 of 4 downloads in progress. Also, when this occurs, each download is at least 20 minutes in and of itself. Finally, my window is composed of 1 inch heads and 1/2 inch at the bottom so the screen is reduced quite a bit. Wish I knew how t5o enlarge it more - maybe it is because I am using 150% so I can see better.
